A Recipe for Great Soil

by Cedric Pendleton

What do you do with the pulp from the juicer? For a long time, without thinking about it, I just threw it away. But it was brought to my attention that there were several options I could utilize that would be beneficial to the ‘green’ way of life. Using the pulp in compost was the option that got my attention. If you are gardener living in an apartment, condo or home without a yard, like me, oftentimes there is limited space. The use of 5 gallon compose buckets will allow you to grow certain produce in small spaces or on patios. The pulp can be dumped, the soil turned, and covered. It transforms the worst soil into rich, mineral feed, earth worm enriched compost. Great soil is exactly what any garden needs.  This is a recipe for great soil.
